
Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning Audio Engineer and Music Producer Rubén Darío Salas has recorded and produced albums and audio-visual media for music acts, video games and film industry from all over the world.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Rubén first came to the U.S. in 2006 to study music and production, and received his degree in Audio Engineering and Music Business from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
After graduation, Rubén began working as an Audio Engineer for recording, radio and television studios as well as working on live show productions, and in 2011 he co-founded an audio-visual facility in Venezuela. Since then Rubén has worked with some the world's premiere musicians and pop stars such as the Latin GRAMMY® award-winning super group Guaco, Latin GRAMMY® award-winning singer-songwriter Erika Ender, Latin GRAMMY® award-winning and multi-platinum artist Felipe Pelaez, the Colombian all female pop sensation Ventino, Latin GRAMMY® award-winning piano virtuoso and composer Fernando Otero, Latin GRAMMY® award winner 123 Andrés and Arpa award-winning Brazilian-Japanese singer songwriter Clayton Uehara, as well as the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela .
In 2016, a project that Rubén recorded was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY® "Arriba Abajo" by 123 Andrés for Best Children’s Album. Arriba Abajo won and Rubén was awarded a GRAMMY® as audio engineer for the album.
Rubén’s work as audio engineer has also been recognized by the National Academy of Christian Music and Arts. He was awarded an ARPA award for the album "Todas las Tardes, El Album" by Clayton Uehara.
In early 2017 Rubén worked on the song "Vivo Pensando en Ti" with Latin pop stars Felipe Pelaez and Maluma. An instant hit, the song has over 270 million views on YouTube achieving 2x Platinum Sales Certification Award by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
On September 26, 2017, three albums that Rubén worked on as audio engineer were nominated for Latin Grammys, including Tatuajes by Erika Ender (co-writer of Despacito), Solo Buenos Aires by Fernando Otero, and Origen by Daniel Minimalia.
On November 16, 2017, Rubén was awarded his second Latin GRAMMY® Award for his work as Audio Engineer in "Solo Buenos Aires" by artist Fernando Otero. The Award Ceremony was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas NV, United States.
In late 2017, Rubén's work as Recording Engineer for Alex Campos and Beca Dicaro were featured in two movies: "Hombre de Fe" and "Papita 2da Base" respectively.
In early 2018, Rubén is certified by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® for his participation as Audio Engineer for the song "El Manifiesto" by Dominican artist Henry G.
On July 6th, 2018 "No Te Creo" by Felipe Pelaez featuring Nacho and Noriel was released, work engineered by Rubén, achieving over 20 Million views on Youtube.com, subsequently, Felipe's album "Ponle Actitud" was released.
In late 2018, Rubén's work achieved another nomination to the Latin GRAMMY® Awards, this time as Engineer for the album "La Fiesta Continua" by Tropical Music Legends La Sonora Santanera, which features stars such as Diego "El Cigala", Aleks Syntek, Alex Lora, Andres Cepeda, Pedro Fernandez, Ricardo Montaner and many others.
Rubén's most recent recording work for Tropical Latin Star Felipe Pelaez "Ponle Actitud" featuring influential artists such as Maluma, Nacho, Noriel, Gilberto Santarosa, and Silvestre Dangond has been nominated to the 61st GRAMMY® Awards 2019, ceremony held in Los Angeles, California on February 10th 2019. The GRAMMY® Awards are the most prestigious accord in the music business, to be presented to prominent artists and industry personalities.
On August 22nd, 2019 Rubén's New Age band album debut “Vital Warrior” is released; teaming up with Film Composer Jesus Garcia and Mikal Vega, a Navy SEAL Veteran, singer, and actor in the FX’s show: Mayans M.C. who started a non-profit foundation called Vital Warrior, supporting veterans to heal from PTSD through mantra, yoga, martial arts and meditation. All proceeds go to serve the cause.
In early 2020, Rubén is awarded the 100.000.000 streams awards by Spotify over his work on "Vivo Pensando en Ti" by Felipe Peláez Ft. Maluma.
Rubén currently is working on several projects soon to be released.
